Calculate sale price, savings and discount percentage instantly
Three modes: (1) Find sale price from MRP and discount %, (2) Find discount % from MRP and sale price, (3) Calculate double/successive discounts like "20% + extra 10% off".
Enter the original price (MRP) and discount percentage. Works for any product — electronics, clothing, grocery, or services.
The calculator instantly shows you the final sale price, total savings in rupees, and the effective discount percentage — all in real-time.
Sale Price: MRP × (1 − Discount% / 100)
Discount %: ((MRP − Sale Price) / MRP) × 100
Double Discount: Total% = D1 + D2 − (D1 × D2 / 100) | e.g., 20% + 10% = 28% (not 30%)
Sale Price = MRP × (1 - Discount%/100). For example, 25% off on ₹800 = 800 × (1 - 0.25) = 800 × 0.75 = ₹600. You save ₹200.
Discount% = ((MRP - Sale Price) / MRP) × 100. Example: MRP ₹1,200, Sale Price ₹900. Discount = ((1200-900)/1200) × 100 = 25%.
Successive discounts are NOT simply added. "20% + 10% off" gives 28% total discount, not 30%. Formula: Total% = X + Y - (X×Y/100). This is important to understand when shopping during Big Billion Day or Great Indian Festival sales.
In India, GST is applied on the transaction value (post-discount price), not on MRP. So if MRP is ₹1,000, 20% discount gives ₹800, and 18% GST = ₹144, final price = ₹944. Use our GST Calculator for detailed breakdown.
