Calculate percentages in three different ways
Mode 1: "What is 20% of 500?" = 100
Mode 2: "50 is what percent of 200?" = 25%
Mode 3: Percentage change from one value to another
Three modes available: (1) Find X% of a number, (2) Find what percentage X is of Y, and (3) Calculate the percentage increase or decrease between two values.
Type in the values. Works for exam marks, price discounts, salary hikes, GST calculations — any percentage problem you encounter.
Results update automatically as you type — no button press needed.
X% of Y: Result = Y × X ÷ 100 | Example: 18% of ₹500 = ₹90
X is what % of Y: Result = (X ÷ Y) × 100 | Example: 45 out of 60 = 75%
% Change: ((New − Old) ÷ Old) × 100 | Example: ₹400 → ₹500 = +25% increase
Divide your obtained marks by total marks and multiply by 100. Example: 450 marks out of 500 = (450 ÷ 500) × 100 = 90%.
Use "X% of Y" mode. Set X as the GST rate (e.g., 18) and Y as the base price. The result is the GST amount. Add it to the base price to get the total.
Use the "% Change" mode. Enter the original price as Old Value and the sale price as New Value. A negative result is your discount percentage.
If interest rates rise from 5% to 7%, that is a 2 percentage point increase but a 40% percentage increase. These two are commonly confused in financial news.
For CBSE: Percentage = CGPA × 9.5. Example: 8.5 CGPA = 80.75%. Note that universities may use different conversion formulas — always check your institution's official guidelines.
